Life for us has been both fabulous and challenging, in more ways than one. If you throw together a once homeless, single parent and a quiet, unconfident person who grew up with little self-belief, and mix in the desire to create a fulfilling life, you create us. We have worked hard to get where we are today and it shows that if we can do it, anyone can!
We have the daily challenges, of dealing with the aftermath of brain injury and breast cancer, which can be really tough at times.
On the other hand, our life is great. We run a business in our own terms, travel to some amazing places in the world and enjoy a fit and active lifestyle. The simpler things in life mean more than fast cars and designer labels. Freedom, peace and happiness are the best.
How do you achieve this yourself?
Well, you find lots of tools for success and use them consistently. That’s why we’ve developed this Toolbox. Whether you’re the parent of a busy family, a graduate intern, a new couple starting out or you live at home with your parents, we look forward to helping you.

Have you ever wanted to publish a book but don’t know where to start? Perhaps writing tens of thousands of words seems like a mammoth task. Well, the Author Toolbox is here to help. We’re the proud authors of five books and we have also published two journals.
It took us 36 days to write the draft manuscript for our third book, What The Hell Just Happened? Mark also set the goal to write Half Man, Half Marathon in 72 days, which he achieved.
OK, so we’re not million dollar selling authors, but we do know how to self-publish a book.
The Author Toolbox is here to offer you support so you can get your thoughts out of your mind and into a draft manuscript. You can work through a series of simple online modules containing tools on how to overcome writer’s block, write consistently and create an engaging story.

Welcome to “Brain or Shine”, giving an insight to living with brain injury.
Where did this title come from? Well, to me a brain injury can be like the wonderful English weather, one minute the sun is shining, the next, it’s raining. It’s so unpredictable and has the ability to change very quickly.
Don’t get us wrong, it’s not all doom and gloom. In fact, so many Brits love to complain about how bad the weather is but they don’t focus on a blue sky on a cold, crisp morning, they complain about the low temperature instead. If you can focus on the beauty and positive bit, life becomes more joyous. So back to my blog, well it’s here to help not only those living with brain injury but the family and friends who have also been affected by their loved one suffering these side-effects.
In fact, the book What The Hell Just Happened? is a raw story of our journey through…well, let’s just say a few challenges that life decided to throw at us.
Our aim is to help others with simple tools to cope with the side effects of brain injury. Sometimes, it’s the little things that make the biggest differences.
